Zoey's Pen

Zoey is on financial aid at her exclusive private school. Lately she’s been hating on her life, especially her English teacher and his sadistic assignment: write a 5-page essay on Great Expectations by Monday or fail 8th grade. With her cell phone confiscated and her home Internet down, Zoey goes to the library and discovers an old leatherbound copy of the Dickens novel. Her world is upended when, during a freak earthquake, she gets transported to Victorian England, falls hard in love with Pip, and starts mysteriously aging in synch with the novel. Realizing that a dark force is weaving her into the story, Zoey longs to escape. But what if the only way out of a Dickens novel is through words? Can a girl with writer’s block write her way home?
